Explanation of gas spring prices
The cost of gas springs depends on various factors. Factors such as the required force, stroke length, installation position and choice of material all play a role. A gas spring with higher specifications, such as a stainless steel finish or spring-loaded damping, usually commands a higher price per unit. The fittings also have an impact: eyelets, ball joints or flanges require additional customisation during production.
Furthermore, customisation plays a role. In many applications, a standard gas spring is not suitable. The calculation must take into account weight, centre of gravity and angular rotation. This calculated torque determines the required force of the gas spring
Why use a configurator to work out the price of gas springs
As the final price depends heavily on more than just length and force, many suppliers offer a configurator or calculation tool. Customers enter their application – for example, a bonnet or hatch – including weight, angle and mounting points. The tool then calculates the bespoke gas spring. This prevents unnecessary costs and ensures you do not pay for oversizing.
What’s more, such a configurator allows you to quickly see what options are available: standard steel or corrosion-resistant stainless steel, with or without damping, and which fixings are suitable. This provides clear insight into the specifications and the price without a specific amount being quoted straight away.
Why isn’t a fixed price quoted?
At T‑Technics, specifications always vary depending on the application. That’s why it’s not possible to quote a single, general price for gas springs. Using the configurator, you can determine exactly the right force, stroke length and connections. Once you’ve entered your details, you can easily request a quote. This ensures you always receive a price that suits your situation and meets the technical requirements.
A quote via the configurator prevents any unpleasant surprises later on. You only pay for what you actually need and receive a bespoke solution rather than a standard off-the-shelf variant.
